Meaning of Sentences - ( অর্থ অনুসারে বাক্য পাঁচ প্রকার)

What is sentence ?

A sentence is a word or group of words that must expresses a complete idea or sense or meaning and that may consists of a subject and a verb. যে শব্দ বা শব্দ সমষ্টি দ্বারা সম্পূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশ পায় এবং যা সাধারণত কর্তা এবং ক্রিয়া দ্বারা গঠিত তাকে sentence বা বাক্য বলা হয় ।

                                            Elements of the Sentence

একটি বাক্যের Elements বা উপাদান হল পাঁচটি । ‍ Sentence বা বাক্য সর্ম্পকে বিস্তারিত জানার আগে বাক্যের উপাদান সর্ম্পকে জেনে নি । যেমন ঃ

1. Subject

Subject সর্ম্পকে জানতে হলে,  “কে” করে ? Who does ? 

Tamim goes to college. কে কলেজে যায় ?  Who দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করে, উত্তর Tamim । Tamim is the subject of this sentence.

Example. 

In some countries, many people live in the street.

In the morning I saw him.

The village people are very helpless.

 2. Object

Object সর্ম্পকে জানতে হলে, “কি/What” নিয়ে কাজটি করে ? What does the subject act with ?

Example : 

Tamim reads book. তামিম  “কি/What” পড়ে ? বই । Book is the object in this sentence.

Tamim watches TV. তামিম  “কি/What” দেখে ? টিভি। TV is the object in this sentence.

3. Verb

Verb  সর্ম্পকে জানতে হলে, “কি” কাজ করে ? What does the subject do ?

Example :

We speak in English. ( We may call that speak is the verb in the following sentence.)

Tamim makes a good result in the exam.

4. Adjective

Adjective সর্ম্পকে জানতে হলে, লোকটি বা জিনিসটি “কেমন”

Tamim is an honest boy. (তামিম “কেমন” বালক ? ভাল বালক । Honest is the adjective.)

Taskin is very strong boy.

5. Adverb

কাজটি “কেমন ভাবে” সম্পন্ন হয় ? How is the work done ?

Example : 

The bird flies swiftly. (পাখি “কেমন ভাবে” উড়ে ? দ্রুত ভাবে )

Tamim finished the work quickly. ( কাজটি “কিভাবে” শেষ হয় ? দ্রুত ভাবে ))

Papia reads the Quran attentively. কুরআন “কিভাবে”  হয় ?, মনোযোগ দিয়ে )

4. William Shakespeare is one of the wisest poets in the English literature.

5. The garden was made beautifully.

                                Subject and Predicate

Now, we will know about Subject and predicate. 

1. Subject : যার দ্বারা sentence এর কাজটি সম্পন্ন হয় তাকে subject বলে । অথবা যে ব্যক্তি বা বস্তু সম্পর্কে কোনকিছু বলা বা লিখা হয় তাকে Subject বা কর্তা বলে ।

2. Predicate : Subject সম্বন্ধে যা কিছু বলা হয় তার সব হল Predicate- বিধেয় । অথবা যা subject বা কর্তা সম্পর্কে বলে বা করে বা লিখে তাকে Predicate বলা হয় ।
