Rule-5

                                         Passive Voice of Reflexive Verbs

Active Structure:  Subject + Verb + Reflexive pronoun
Passive Structure: Subject + be verb+ V.(Past participle) + by + Reflexive Pronoun

Example:  
Active : He killed himself.
Passive : He was killed by himself.

Active : They help themselves.
Passive : They are helped by themselves.

Active : We will guide ourselves.
Passive : We will be guided by ourselves.

Active : Tamim is praising himself.
Passive : Tamim is being praised by himself.

Active : They have thanked themselves.
Passive : They have been thanked by themselves.

                                         

Rule- 6 : 
                                    Passive Voice of Quasi-Passive Verbs

Quasi-Passive Verbs দুই প্রকার (1) Complement বিশিষ্ট এবং (2) Complement বিহীন । যেমন ঃ

                                                   Complement বিশিষ্ট

Complement Active structure : Subject + Verb + Adjective / Complement
Complement Passive structure : Subject + Be Verb + Adjective /Complement + when(if) + it/they + Be Verb + Verb Past Participle

Example :
Active : Rice sells cheap. ( চাল সস্তা বিক্রি হচ্ছে । )
passive : Rice is cheap when it is sold.

Active : Iron feels hard. ( লোহা শক্ত মনে হচ্ছে । )
passive : Iron is hard when it is felt.

Active : Honey tastes sweet.
passive : Honey is sweet when it is tested.

Active : The pill tastes sour.
passive : The pill is sour when it is tasted.



                                                         Complement বিহীন

Complement বিহীন Active structure : Subject + Be Verb + মূল Verb + মূল এর Ing Form
Complement বিহীন Passive Structure : Subject + helping/Auxiliary Verb + being + মূল এর Verb past participle

Example : 
Active : The book is printing. ( বইটি ছাপানো হচেছ । )
passive : The book is being printed.

Active : The house was building. ( বাড়িটি তৈরি হচেছ । )
passive : The house was being built.

Active : The bricks were burning.( ইট পোড়ানো হচেছ ।)
passive : The bricks were being burnt.



Rule-7 :
                                                 Passive Voice of infinitives
A. 
Structure : Object কে Subject + helping verb + মূল Verb এর Past Participle + Adjective + to +  second  Verb of the sentence + by + Subject কে object

I found it easy to do. ( Easy to do এই অংশের কোন change হয় নাই ।   
It was found easy to do by me.

We found a rat easy to kill.
A rat was found easy to kill by us.

But নিচের বাক্য গুলো করা সম্ভব নয় । কারণ Bold শব্দ গুলোর পরে কোন object নাই ।
A rat is easy to kill.
A flower is interesting to smell.
It is hard to digest.
English is not easy to learn.
Mangoes are good to eat.

B. 
                                                              to + verb
Structure : Subject + Verb + Object  to + be +  মূল এর Verb past participle
                                                           
                                                                        Or
Object কে Subject + helping verb + মূল Verb এর  past participle + to + be মূল Verb এর past participle + by + Subject কে object.

Active : He ordered to punish the thief.
Passive : He ordered the thief to be punished.
                                Or
Passive : The thief was ordered to be punished by him.

The prime minister to kill the killers.
Passive : The prime minister ordered the killers to be killed.
                                   Or
Passive : The killers were ordered to be killed by the prime minister.

C.                                 Transitive Verb এর complement with voice

Example : 
Active : We select him secretary.
Passive : He was selected secretary by us.
Incorrect : Secretary was selected he by us.

We elected him captain.
He was elected captain by us.

D. 
                                          Passive Voice of complex Sentence
Example : 
Active : I know what he thinks.
              S V         Object

What he thinks is known to us.
   Sub                      V          Obj
Active : He showed me what he had made.
Passive : What he had made was showed me by him.

Active : We will explain why they want to do it.
Passive : Why they want to do it will be explained by us.
                         
Active : What he has done will save his family.
                Sub                           Verb     Object
Passive : His family will be saved by what he has done.


F. People say দিয়ে বাক্য শুরু হলে "People say" এর পরিবর্তে  It is said” লিখে passive করিতে হবে ।

Example :
Active : People say that lion is the king of forest.
Passive : It is said that lion is the king of forest.

Active : People say that honesty is the best policy.
Passive : It is said that honesty is the best policy.

G. Agree, be anxious, arrange, determine, be determined, decide, demand, + infinitive + object যুক্ত active  কে  passive voice করতে হবে নিচের গটন অনুযায়ী ।

Structure : Subject + Verb + that + infinitive এর পরের object + should be + infinitive এর পরের Verb এর past participle.

Active : He decided to sell the house.
Passive : He decided that the house should be sold.

Active : He arranged to discuss an important things.
Passive : He arranged that an important thinks should be discussed.

Active : We agreed to buy a new phone.
Passive : We agreed that a new phone should be bought.

H. One + Should যুক্ত active voice কে passive করিবার নিয়ম ।

Structure : Object কে Subject + should be + Verb এর past participle.

Active : One should speak the truth.
Passive : The truth should spoken.

Active : One should respect the teacher.
Passive : The teacher should be respected.
